Star Bath Terms & Conditions
Please review the following information before completing your registration.
These event-specific terms supplement the Zoetic River Participation Agreement
& Liability Waiver.
Event Experience
Star Bath begins with a relaxed gathering period during which guests are welcome
to socialize, swim, paddle, float, and enjoy the river within the designated
event area.
When the guided meditation and sound bath begin, participants agree to help
preserve the experience by remaining quiet, minimizing unnecessary movement,
silencing electronic devices, and following the guidance of the facilitators
until the meditation has concluded.
Voluntary Participation
Participation in swimming, kayaking, floating, and all other water-based
activities is optional. Guests may attend Star Bath without swimming or using
watercraft.
Each participant is responsible for determining whether an activity is
appropriate for their swimming ability, health, physical condition, mobility,
experience, and comfort level.
Acknowledgment and Assumption of Risk
I understand that Star Bath may include optional water-based activities,
including swimming, kayaking, floating, wading, and entering or exiting
watercraft or floating equipment.
I understand that participation in these activities involves inherent and
other risks that cannot be completely eliminated, including the risk of
falls, collisions, equipment movement or overturning, entrapment, injury,
illness, property damage, drowning, or death.
I voluntarily choose to participate in any water-based activities and knowingly
accept and assume the risks associated with my participation.
Natural River Conditions
I understand that the Blanco River is a natural and changing environment.
Conditions may include:
- Uneven, rocky, slippery, or unstable footing
- Submerged rocks, branches, plants, or other objects
- Changing water depths, currents, temperatures, and visibility
- Slippery docks, stairs, banks, entry points, and equipment
- Insects, fish, wildlife, plants, and other natural conditions
- Weather-related changes and conditions outside Zoetic River’s control
Water that appears shallow may still present a risk of falling, head or bodily
injury, entrapment, or drowning. Participants agree not to dive or jump into
the river from any dock, bank, watercraft, or other structure.
Swimming and Water Safety
-
Participants must remain within the water areas designated by Zoetic River
staff.
-
Participants agree to enter and exit the river carefully and to use designated
access points whenever instructed.
-
Participants must follow all water-safety instructions provided by Zoetic
River staff, facilitators, volunteers, or equipment attendants.
-
Participants agree not to engage in dangerous horseplay, roughhousing,
reckless swimming, or behavior that creates a risk to themselves or others.
-
Participants must notify a staff member immediately if they feel unwell,
become uncomfortable in the water, require assistance, or observe a potentially
unsafe condition.
-
No participant may enter the water or use water equipment while impaired by
alcohol, cannabis, recreational drugs, misused medication, or any other
intoxicating substance.
Use of Kayaks and Floating Equipment
Kayaks, floating beds, and other water equipment provided by Zoetic River may
be offered as optional paid add-on experiences. Purchasing an equipment add-on
does not remove the participant’s responsibility to follow all safety rules
and staff instructions.
By choosing to use Zoetic River equipment, I acknowledge and agree that:
-
I am voluntarily participating in a water-based activity and knowingly accept
the risks associated with using the equipment.
-
I am physically able to enter, exit, balance on, and use the equipment, or I
will request assistance before attempting to do so.
-
I will attend and follow any safety orientation or equipment instructions
provided before entering the water.
-
I will wear the provided, properly fastened U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal
flotation device whenever I am using a kayak, canoe, paddlecraft, or other
watercraft provided by Zoetic River.
-
I will not remove or loosen my personal flotation device while using the
watercraft.
-
I will use the equipment only in the manner instructed and will remain within
the designated event area.
-
I will not intentionally tip, stand in, jump from, collide with, tow, race,
or misuse a kayak or other floating equipment.
-
During the guided meditation and sound bath, I will remain seated or reclined
in my assigned watercraft or floating equipment unless I need assistance or
am instructed otherwise by staff.
-
I will immediately notify a staff member if equipment appears damaged,
defective, unstable, improperly fitted, or otherwise unsafe.
-
I will not use equipment that has been identified as damaged, closed, or
unavailable by Zoetic River staff.
-
I accept financial responsibility for damage caused by my intentional,
reckless, or negligent misuse of Zoetic River equipment beyond ordinary wear
and tear.
Staff Authority and Removal from Activities
Zoetic River reserves the right to delay, restrict, deny, or discontinue a
participant’s swimming or equipment use when staff reasonably determine that
the participant’s conduct, condition, equipment use, or surrounding conditions
may be unsafe.
Participants who disregard safety instructions, behave recklessly, appear
impaired, or create a risk to themselves or others may be removed from the
water or from the event. A refund or credit is not guaranteed when participation
is discontinued because of a participant’s unsafe or prohibited conduct.
Weather and River Conditions
Star Bath is an outdoor event. Weather, river levels, water quality, visibility,
temperature, lightning, flooding, wind, or other environmental conditions may
require Zoetic River to delay, modify, relocate, shorten, suspend, or cancel
some or all water-based activities.
The availability of a kayak, floating experience, or swimming period is always
subject to staff assessment of conditions at the time of the event. Zoetic River
may require participants to leave the water immediately when conditions change
or when instructed for safety reasons.
Personal Property
Participants are responsible for protecting their phones, jewelry, clothing,
glasses, keys, bags, and other personal belongings. Zoetic River is not
responsible for personal property that is lost, damaged, dropped in the river,
or left unattended, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Emergency Assistance
In an emergency, I authorize Zoetic River staff to contact emergency medical
services and provide or seek reasonable assistance on my behalf. I understand
that I am financially responsible for medical treatment, emergency response,
transportation, or other services provided to me.
